Why are we giving all of this away? For a few reasons. One is the spirit of the holidays. We like brightening people's days a little with a yummy yarn package. It's good to put a little good out there in the world.

Another is to say thank you for all of your support this past year -- you've been with us as we've moved into a new studio, expanded our yarn offerings, and started new clubs. We would be nowhere without our fantastic customers, and we want to say thank you.

Here's how you enter: leave a reply to this post answering the following question: What is your favorite holiday tradition?  Do you have a latke party? (And does your house smell like latkes for three weeks afterward?) Do you have a family outing to cut down a Christmas tree? Do you bake something special? Watch something special? Go somewhere special?

If so, I want to hear about it!

Winners will be randomly selected from the responses. You have until Monday, December 22nd at 9pm EST to reply. Winners will be announced Tuesday, December 23rd.

If you'd like to give any of these prizes as a gift, that can certainly be arranged!

Thank you again, dear readers and loyal customers.

If we venture north from TX to see my husband's family for Christmas, I always enjoy going to his Aunt Betty's house on Christmas Eve. About 15 to 20 of us gather at her house to eat, play games, and just visit.

My favorite tradition is making the gingerbread cookies with the kids (now 21, 21 and 17) which we still do ...every year!
Then, Christmas breakfast with the entire family! :)

When I was growing up, my father would read the
Christmas story to me as I sat on his lap.He is now deceased but I have tried to continue this tradition with my own kids. They are 15 and 13 years old and a tad bit heavy to sit on my lap but I still read the story to them as we sit by the fire.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?
My favorite tradition would have to be on Christmas eve we always snuggle and read a special story to the kids before we tuck them in. Then Christmas morning we are woke by the kids jumping on us which is the best ever!

My favorite holiday tradition is baking cookies with my kids. All of us in the kitchen, the radio playing in the background......it's so peaceful and relaxing.

My favorite holiday tradition is at the end of the day we all plop on the couch, at ease with two thoughts: it's finally OVER and we've survived another holiday season. ;)

My favorite holiday tradition is heading to the in laws for Christmas Eve dinner & waiting to see if the Pajama Elves came to our house while we were gone. They always leave the kids new pajamas for Christmas...

Well, I'm not Jewish, but my husband is, and so we get to celebrate Hannukah and Christmas both. We just setled down after my favorite Hannukah tradition--the latkes. Our family's little joke on the tradition is that if you light a latke, the oil in it will burn for 8 days and nights... We're talking calories, but also delicious. We make homemade applesauce, and use sour cream too. For the latkes, you grate the potatoes (food processor), put them in a colandar to turn red, rinse the heck out of them, and the red starch washes out. Then you are supposed to squeeze the water out, which is a coooooold job on a winter night. Turns out, I realized a couple years ago that you can put the potatoes in the salad spinner. Voila! Then mix with grated onion, eggs, a bit of flour, and fry until you drop. Put on paper towels to soak up some of the excess oil, or your stomach will burn for eight days and nights... We have a great night every time. A holiday tradition.

We're still trying to figure out our own traditions, but I love putting the tree up - our son is now our "assistant." At almost 5, he's understanding a lot more, and we've been making cookies (Jello cookies are some of our favorite Christmas cookies (besides other traditional ones)), fudge (both chocolate and brown sugar), and decorating the tree. One tradition we carry on from my childhood is Christmas morning when we're opening presents, the youngest goes first, and up the line to the oldest, one present at a time as we go around the circle. Usually the youngest ones are the ones who distribute all the presents under the tree, too, so they get to handle all of them and guess what might be inside. I can't wait to go home tonight and start on the cookies. Thank you for all the comments - they're not only fun to read, but gives me ideas, too!

presents *blush*

I have come to love buying stocking stuffers for our 2 'kids' stockings. Always, the XL Toblerone bar for the candy and fun items this year include the Coleman camping toilet paper for our daughter, perhaps some new boxer shorts for the son...just silly little gifts that get wrapped and placed in the stocking. The stocking is what is especially 'special'--hand knit from Nana who is no longer with us.. :( ... - they are about 2 feet long and stretch out to about 4 feet with all the presents. We love the stockings and watching the 'kids' open them...

My fav "tradition" happens Christmas evening. Everyone is stuffed, but still eating pies, etc. We play a family board game (a new one each year) Lots of manipulating the rules because no one knows for sure how to play the new game. It is just a fun time for everyone.

Well, 9 your time is 6 my time, and I don't get home till 8, so I missed out. Just wanted to say I love your yarns and colors! Our favorite tradition is making the little kids "perform" before they get to open presents. My parents' living room has a fireplace with bricks on the floor where they always stood to do their show. The grandkids are now in their 20's, and they still will get up there and sing! Merry Christmas to you-all!!!

We always ate breakfast on the little toy dishes we would get for Christmas, complete with tiny biscuits made by my mom. i will be doing this with my son this year for the first time.

Our favorite tradition is making cookies with family and friends. Every year we pick someone's kitchen and each person who's there gets to pick one recipe to make. Some years if there are a lot of people we can end up with more than a dozen or two of different types of cookies!!! The kids all have fun with this as they try to outdo the most elaborate cookie from previous years. Of course the big reason for cookies is to leave them for Santa and the small hay cookies for the reindeer!!
Merry Christmas

My favorite traditions of christmas are making cookies at grandma's house and getting everything all ready as soon as thanksgiving is over:) Also the shopping craze the day after x*mas!

Now that I'm a grandmother, the best Hanukkah tradition is when all three granddaughters and their parents, grand parents get together and open all the Hanukkah presents at one time. The girls have a great time! And my husband and I get to enjoy all the excitement. This year one of my sisters, her husband and 2 of her kids will joining us. I can't wait. We light the memorah, sing the blessings and just enjoy being together. The girls are almost 5, almost 3 and almost 2 . Happy Holidays to all!
