Please help me find...
...blinds and a sign.
I am in love with these blinds. They're made from strips of layered fabric, and you can open and close them with a pulley. The curtains here at the studio are woefully inadequate and not at all befitting a fabulous yarn studio such as this one.
Dear neighbor with these blinds,
Please forgive me for taking pictures of your blinds. I want them.
Love,
Yarnista
The blinds have the appearance of translucence, but you can't see through them when you get up close.
Dear neighbor with these blinds,
I'm sorry that I tried to see through your blinds. I wanted to see if they were sheer.
Love,
Yarnista
See how they're kind of layered? I figured out that they're fabric, not plastic.
Dear neighbor with these blinds,
Please write to me and tell me where I can buy blinds like yours so that I can copy you and have blinds just like yours. Or, you could just give me your blinds.
Love,
Yarnista
The fabric appears to be fairly well starched, not too draped.
Dear neighbor with these blinds,
PLEASE! I will give you some yarn. PLEASE! My curtains pale in comparison to yours. PLEASE! please.
Love,
Yarnista
The next thing I need is a nice, handmade sign. Wood or metal or plastic? Something unbreakable, as I tend to break things. Which is why it's good I work with yarn.
I need the sign to be customized to my specifications, as we use it to direct the postman, the UPS man, the FedEx man, and the husband man where to make deliveries. Can anyone direct me to a site (maybe something on etsy?) where I can order a sign?
Please? I'll be your Yarnista forever.
P.S. The blinds don't have to be made from this exact fabric, I just want something similar. Or something exact.

This man is local to us and does wonderful work and I sure that he would be able to do whatever you want....but local to us is not remotely local to you....

Good luck on your search for the perfect sign and the perfect blinds!!
They remind me of something I've seen at Ikea. Do you have an Ikea nearby?
I think it is this:

Sharon, I had those blinds from IKEA, (different pattern)--they are the coolest thing ever. And not too expensive. Love the new blog!
OMG, they are totally from IKEA! Thank you!
Why don't they sell them online, why? Why?
You are too adorable. I'm sorry I can't help with your dilemmas!
Windowshades has panel blinds very similar to the ones that are shown in your pictures. The fabric collection book one has a pattern that has the same effect, but is slightly different.

And according to the website, they serve the North west areas.
Just realized it was a UK website and that the Ikea link appears to be way more accurate.
Yarnista -- the IKEA website says they are 24" wide. Tell me how many to get and I'll buy them and send them to you. It says you can determine the length by cutting them yourself, but they come as 118" long.

You have such wonderful friends who read your blog and help you find the things you need for your studio! I am blessed because you are so blessed. :)
Ooo yes, Ikea has many pretty ones for your studio! I can't wait to see what you get!
As for signs, try Todd Signs up in Hermantown. He does a really nice job. Otherwise, Let the Whole World know does the vinal lettering on windows. Both of them are in the Duluth phone book, but if you can't find them let me know.
They have tons of these at the Emeryville Ikea - saw them tonight. If Mary's Ikea doesn't have them, I can run across the bridge and get them for you.
My dad may be able to help you! He's a craftsman and has made many such signs for our family, my business and for their neighborhood association in the BWCA.
Yarnista--You could always make a pit stop at Ikea when you're here for the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival! Which, btw, you MUST attend!!
These blinds just keep saying "the seventies, the seventies" to me. Very retro, as they say nowadays. (Unless I'm behind a bit. Maybe it's vintage again.)
