Lordy lordy.
Today was a day.
A busy day.
A good day, but a bad day.
One of those days when you:
- run out of labels
- run out of tape
- find out your website has been down for two hours
- run out of energy
- discover that your printer is malfunctioning
- run out of ink
- run out of paper
- can't find your hole puncher
- know that you're under a huge deadline and a giant job must be finished by 4:30, no matter what
- find that a huge percentage of the yarn you're trying to get ready is TANGLED, DAGNABIT.
- run out of patience
And then, despite all of the headache, you watch your baby, the biggest shipment of yarn you've ever prepared, go sailing off in a truck, neatly tucked into its cradle box, and you feel a teeny bit of relief. And you eat some cookies and drink some tea. And you know that everything will be OK, and that tomorrow the printer and labels and tape will not seem like such a big deal. Really, in the grand scheme of things, not being able to find your hole puncher is pretty miniscule.
So it's been a day, a good day and a bad one. I think those of you heading to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival next weekend will thank me.
How about you?

Sharon! Today was my first day of graduate school.
So, it was A Day.
Mostly a good day. But oh, the curses of group projects, assigned on the first class of the first day of the first quarter of grad school, when nobody knows anyone else!
I voted for "meh". My two-year-old is teething and kept bugging my three-month-old all day. My husband had to work late so I was stuck with an overly tired baby girl and a toddler who was in pain and also very tired. Yikes! Here's to hoping for a better day today!
I will thank you right now...I have already been in touch with Jolene and have some pretties coming my way when the shipment arrives!!!! A little Brandy Alexander and some Passion Punch will ease the pain of not attending the festival.... :)
Wow!! Hugs to you! Hope today is a wonderful day :)
My day yesterday was filled with attempting to do thing like shop for groceries, and laundry. Of course that all had to happen while my normally well-behaved 4 year old was doing her best impression of, well, a 4 year old! Hehe. Today I got to drop her off at school, where she can be a "joy" for somebody else. So my day is already going better, even if it is raining. Again. :)
Hi--
I am a lucky one who will be attending the festival....What vendor did you send that shipment to? Can't remember the name of your favorite MD haunt. (I'm Balto area). Thanks for sending it our way!!

I voted for "meh". I had my committee meeting. It didn't go well. As a result of my meeting, I met with my fellowship director and he was very helpful and now the "situation" isn't so bad and I'll be getting some help. While I was waiting to talk to the fellowship director I had to wait for my inlaws to bring my children back from a morning of playing. They were almost 2 hours late. With no phone call and no answering our calls. For almost 2 hours. Yeah. Then I got a migraine. Then my sickly dog got a nose bleed. The vet is already thinking possible brain tumor, so this just makes me sad. We've lost 2 dogs since February. My 2 year old still dreams about them and gets sad. So while it wasn't the worst day ever (nobody died and my children are healthy), it was really bad.
I'm sorry you had a frustrating and stressful day. At least you got done what you needed. And the tea and cookies sounds like a wonder treatment for a rough day.

I voted one of the worst days of my life - It was the day of my sister's funeral - which, obviously is bad to start. It was pouring down rain... and I walked out to my car to discover a FLAT tire. No joke! I called my other sister who came and picked me up and we then got stuck in nasty traffic. Luckily, we had built in enough of a buffer that we were not late to the church - but we planned to go by my parent's house first. The funeral was lovely, if that can be used to describe a funeral, and it was nice to be with my family, but I was SO glad when the day was over. My very kind neighbors changed my tire for me. Sigh.
