*time's up!* I want you to have this.
*Time's up!* Winner will be announced shortly...
Really, I want each and every one of you to have this.
Unfortunately, I don't have 30,000 of them, I only have one.
It's a rainbow mini skein set. One ounce each of our nine new spring colorways: Brandy Alexander, Cosmo, Mimosa, Creamsicle, Mojito, Agua Vida, Curaçao, Ice Blue Raspberry, and Passion Punch. That's 2-1/4 skeins of yarn.
These sets are pretty irresistible, and the possibilities are endless. You can use them to make stripes, you can use just a couple of colorways together at a time, you can use them for trim, for contrasting heels and toes, or for a project that requires small blocks of color.
I would LOVE to see a log cabin pillow top, or a chevron scarf with skinny color changes. I would ADORE seeing a sweet striped sweater for a little one. It would THRILL me if someone made these into knee socks or a stocking cap.
The set I'm giving away is dyed on Springvale Sport, which can be knit like a heavy fingering weight for socks, or as a true sport weight for sweaters and scarves and such. It's delishy and squishy.
Don't mind me and my made up adjectives.
These sets are currently available only through retailers, but here's your chance to win one.
To enter, please leave a comment describing what you would do with this set if you won. I will use a random number generator to select a winner tomorrow, Wednesday, May 26th, at 1:00 pm, Central Time. The winner will be posted here. One entry per person, please.
Good luck!

I would use these to make a pair of striped socks using Cat Bordhi's newest book. I would love to make them as tall as I possibly could. I would knit a few rows of each color at a time and wouldn't necessarly make it a repeating (read identical) pattern for both socks. I would love a chance to try out the sport weight yarn. I am new to TIG's and am still waiting for my first chance to use your yarns. (I signed up for the Sock Yarista Club and am eagerly awaiting May's kit!!) I love the beautiful colorways you create and all the beautiful projects everyone has been creating with them all!
Here's too the lucky winner, whoever that may be!!!
Holy crow, those colors are so pretty. I would really love for them to come live with me. There are so many ladies pregnant at my church, and I am the only knitter, so I knit blankets, booties and hats for them. I would definitely love to make my first little sweater! And hat, and socks, and a scarf for me, and and and. If only it were a magic set and never ran out. :-))))
I am in awe that one of these sets is still available. This was THE main attraction for me at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. But alas, I arrived too late. The rainbows were gone. :-(
So it is with great delight (and lots of fingers, toes, and two sets of Doberman paws crossed) that I am entering the contest to win these beautiful skeins.
I would use them to make a lovely little shawl. These colors remind me of the famous Rainbow Cone in Chicago - an ice cream cone made with orange sherbet, pistachio, strawberry, chocolate and what they call the Palmer House ice cream (a special vanilla). A shawl made from this yarn would be as yummy and wonderful as a Rainbow Cone!!
I think I would like to try to make an entrelac bag -- I love bags and would enjoy making one with these colors!
This set would absolutely sit on my desk right where I can pet it for a few weeks. Then, I don't know - quite possibly a shawl - or a baby blanket - although I don't have any more babies in my future... or maybe a sweater for my daughter - but then again, she's getting big and would outgrow it... hm.... I don't exactly know what it would be - other than totally and utterly LOVED!!!
Morning Surf scarf!
i would use them to learn how to knit!
I would knit cool toeless socks and have each one be slightly different so they would go together but not be a matched pair. I would alternate and wear two every evening...
hmm, I think I would make some colorwork socks.......
Ooooooooh, so many possibilities! My daughter turns 4 next month and has been begging me for more handknit socks, so I'd probably make her a pair or two as a birthday present, and then the rest would be socks for me!
Oh man what perfect timing. I just bought a pattern for a striped shawl, which I would love to make into a rainbow. I would probably also try and save some of the yarn to also make some happy rainbow socks. I've always wanted to make a pair and since I've just started doing colorwork, now I can!
My 2 year old daughter would look fabulous in a striped cardigan made with these mini skeins!
I would make a sweet little sweater for my granddaughter who is almost three.
Oh my....such gorgeousness. I think these are begging to be knit up into some rainbow garment for my 3yr old DD... who loves, loves, loves rainbows. Perhaps a Milo vest? With any scraps becoming some crazy socks for my lil guy (3 mos).
*fingers crossed*
The colors are wonderful. So many choices for knitting projects - it would hard for me to pick just one. Being that scarfs are my favorite item, I would probably go with a chevron scarf.
The first thing I would do with this yarn would be to pet it. There would be quite a lot of heavy petting involving this yarn.
The second would be to make this yarn its own special home in my stash area. I would be very choosy as to who it comes in contact with (yes, I am a bit over protective).
The third, which would happen very quickly, would be to knit myself the most colorful and loverly socks with this yarn. It screams to me to become some stripey socks with Brandy Alexander for the toes and heels.
I think I would make slippers or a rainbow hat!
I would make a baby surprise jacket for a friend who is expecting a baby boy in September.

That's what I'd make with this delicious yarn! YUM!
I'd make a pair of rainbow striped socks for my friend who wears sandals all year round. She LOVES colorful socks.
