let's try something new...

You give me a name for a colorway. I'll try and make a colorway with that name for our next Carpe Yarnem: Seize the Dye stocking on 8.16. (A little more than a week away!)

The name can be pithy or beautiful, poppy or quaint. Hit me with your best shot, I'm on a tear.

P.S. The stocking will be next Monday at 3:30 pm Central Time. WOOT!

It seems that muted fluorescent colors are in this season. I love a J Crew t shirt I bought that's a neon safety orange that has been muted in a cool almost heathered way, like the shirt was left to cook in the summer sun and got a little bleached. So my color is:

Weathered Safety Orange

I love minerals....so how about: kyanite, Frankhawthorneite (never heard of this one, but its GREEN and has a way cool name), Moolooite , Azurite

This isn't as romantic and dreamy sounding as so many neat ideas that have been suggested, but if you had a brownish, tannish, greenish yarn, you could call it Borborygmi.

Knitters in the medical field might snatch it up. Or not.

I really like Katie's "Moolooite" - I myself would buy a yarn called Moolooite. :)

Love you.

I'd like to suggest "Cloths of Heaven" from the Yeats poem. My husband read that poem to me when he was proposing, so I have a sentimental attachment to it.

And! My skein of Adorn Sock in Sea Flower arrived today; it's even more gorgeous in person than it was in online pics, so I know you'd do justice to a colorway named "Cloths of Heaven." :)

How about supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? It would have to be variegated, of course.

Sharon! We were just talking about this during the weekend!

We would love a colorway called Puck! And perhaps one called goatnuts.

My suggestion for the name of your new colorway: Zuzu's petals!

Some ideas from the Dutch lowlands:

- Proud peacock (blues, greens, purple, black)
- Posh poppies (red, black, hint of yellow)
- Peony power (pinks)
- Dutch blueskies (blue in alle shades)
- Zesty citrus (oranges, yellows, little green)
- Cinnamon sweet (warm brown, caramel, cream)
- Candy cotton (very link pink)

........... I'm getting carried away ... ;-))

Curious for the results! Keep up the good work!
