i used to be able to...
Knit in the car.
I knit in the car driving hither and yon, here and there, thusly and... whatever thusly is usually paired with.
I made this:
And this:
And this:
Mind you, I was knitting while sitting in the veritable cornucopia of interminably long stoplights present every fifteen feet on the roadways of suburban Washington, DC.
I was not knitting while operating the vehicle.
I knit this too:
And also this:
Scarves make great car knitting. They don't require a lot of concentration. You can easily see where you left off.
Today, I get absolutely no knitting done in the car. Zero.
Stoplights here in Duluth, MN are 20 seconds long. The only traffic backups that occur are because of road construction.
But this is the trade off for car knitting: a view of Lake Superior everywhere you turn.
Scarves with ridiculous traffic or Lake Superior and no gridlock?
Toughie.

Beautiful projects! I too keep knitting projects in the car, usually socks. Love the tri-colored scarf (4th pic down) is there a pattern available somewhere?
Thanks, Pam! The scarf was actually just an experiment that I never wrote up the pattern for. :)
Well! I think you should write that baby up! Happy Thanksgiving!
beautiful view - after sitting in that great Washington DC area traffic - just 1 mile from work to home.... hmmmm, we have lots of creative remote telework arrangements that keep popping up. Could this southern girl (who loves snow) handle a Minnesota winter?? :)
I love that multi-colored scarf too!(4th pic down). I could see it going with mini-skeins!
Torre, it would take some acclimation. But like the Norwegians say, "There's no such thing as bad weather. Only bad clothes."
You just have to dress warmly!
Another vote for the scarf! Time to write it out!
Bridging (The Lift Bridge) and trainings (due to tracks on Railroad St. on the way to Garfield Ave) provide me with my Duluth commuting knitting time.
That Lake Superior shot? Fabulous inspiration for a colorway I would buy buy buy. Just sayin'.
