Crazy and creative

I believe that what we think and say becomes what we do. Sometimes this effect is the result of our conscious, concerted effort to do something. And sometimes the effect is subconscious -- you internalize a set of beliefs, which inform your actions.

The tagline in my blog header says "A crazy and creative life."

I don't even see it anymore, it's been there for years and years. But my brain has certainly absorbed it, and my life continues to be full of beauty, interest, and activity. One might say it's crazy and creative.

Before we wade in any further,

Deep Thought Alert:

Here's a good thing to do if you go to a party and you don't know anybody: First take out the garbage. Then go around and collect any extra garbage that people might have, like a crumpled napkin, and take that out too. Pretty soon people will want to meet the busy garbage guy.

Awww, thanks, Jack Handey.

Dear lord, please tell me you remember who Jack Handey is. I know I'm older than the internet, but if I'm the only one left alive that recalls this...

The difference between a man and a boy is, a boy wants to grow up to be a fireman, but a man wants to grow up to be a giant monster fireman.

...then I might need to find a facility with padded rooms to check into.

Which brings me to my

Real Deep Thought Alert:

What would you write as the tagline for your life?

A peaceful and tidy life?

A life of adventure and wonderment?

A content and sweet life?

Write your tagline on a post-it and stick it where you'll see it each morning and night. Put one next to your computer. Read it every day. Leave your tagline here. Put it on Twitter, or Facebook, or wherever you spend a lot of time. See what happens. Report back.

And remember,

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind." Basically, it's made up of two separate words, mank and ind. What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

P.S. If you like seeing my pictures, you might like seeing the Facebook page I made just for them. I'd love it if you'd like me!

Well, based on my Ravelry ads, apparently my tagline is "Ooh, shiny!" I'm fairly certain my order history from Three Irish Girls gives the same impression. ;-)

You have a very shiny life, Jen!

I know the tagline that others would say about me, and while it's not bad, it's not what I aspire to. I would like my tagline to be something like, "A kind and gentle life." Or "A life of love and faithfulness." It's not that these attributes don't exist at all in my life, I just don't think they characterize it. Very thought-provoking post, dear dotter. xxoo

Some thoughts.

a) You're not alone in remembering Jack Handey, nor are you alone in referencing his Deep Thoughts.
b) Quite a thought-provoking post. I honestly have no idea yet what my actual or desired life tagline(s) would be. And would they be different or the same? I'll noodle on this.
c) Just like a bolt of lightning - shazam! - a tagline came to me while I was moving the mouse to click "Create Post." That tagline is "Vismajor: A Work in Progress" which suits me fine. :)

If life deals you lemons, why not go kill someone with the lemons
(maybe by shoving them down his throat).

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate.
And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never
expect it.

I hope some animal never bores a hole in my head and lays its eggs
in my brain, because later you might think you're having a good idea
but it's just eggs hatching.

I remember the visuals, The guy leaning over and almost falling Stupid but so funny.

I remember Jack Handey! :)

My sister sent me a birthday card with a perfect tagline for me: "My life is a circus without the tent!" I love the awesome retro graphic on the front, but the spot-on description of my life is the reason it is still on display months later.
Joy, fun, wonder, a touch of anxiety (lion-tamers and high-wire acts!), chaos and way too much going on all at once - yep, that's my life. :)

I promise I would "like" you on Facebook if I were ON Facebook!
Since I'm not, I'll just have to do it here.
I LIKE Yarnista!

The tagline on my blog is "What... it's cheaper than therapy"... On my twitter, it's "... the rest is just gravy really". Both of which lead me on my campaign for a sarcasm font! I love the life that you've shared with us - it is very crazy and creative and loving and funny and happy and wonderful. So if we live our taglines, you've got it covered and I'm just shaking my head, shrugging my shoulders and giggling at mine... all in all, not too bad.

"It's all good." because any day spent above ground is a gift.

I kinda like your tag line, not to be a copy-cat, but my life is crazy and I am very creative. By the way, your photography is so inspiring! As are your colorways! Just love it - Thank you!
I am not on facebook, and I LIKE Yarnista! And Three Irish Girls!

Ummm... I have a few:

I love my life - that's why I decorate it. (which I stole from a scrapbook company)

Regret Nothing (which I actually DO have hanging up on my desk under the ephemera of my life) AND

All I want is an umbrella in my drink. (which also hangs on my desk)

I've long considered mine to be "setting fire to the brim world". With the Hunger Games out, I feel like it's kinda cliche. I realize though that I've picked up a new one. Shortly after I graduated and got a job at an Ivy League school, I found a lille button that has a cartoon bird desperately flapping its wings and saying "Holy %*#$! I can fly". It's totally me for those days when I don't feel nearly smart/hard-working/etc enough and can't quite believe I'm here.
