The number three reject.

I have GOT to find another way to say that. Reject is so harsh.

Number three was [this close] to making the team. I had her on the short list. But alas, I had to go with someone better. (See the other rejected contestants here and here.)

Mrs. Blah is unique in that she will guarantee no pooling of colors whatsoever. She's made using a new dyeing technique I'm perfecting. (And apparently, didn't get it quite right with Mrs. Blah here.)

I mean, she's not hideous. She's not ugly, perse. She just lacks a certain joie de vivre, a certain chutzpah that I like my colorways to have.

I also like my colorways to be multi-lingual. It's required.

Mrs. Blah is a variation of Mr. Boring. Can you see the similarities? Mrs. Blah on the left, Mr. Boring on the right.

Mrs. Blah has a little more oomph than Mr. Boring.

But she's still a little too... blah for me. She's lacking...je ne sais quoi.

Reject #4 is coming tomorrow. Dude. She's REALLY ugly. She has a face not even I, her mother, could love.

I have to say that those really intrigue me. I really like them. Can't wait to see what's coming.

Dear Lordy,

What are the chosen ones going to be like, because I like the rejects!

I like Mrs. Blah as much as I do Mr. Boring. I think you should have a group of colorways for slightly depressed people, featuring yarns like Boring and Blah, and market them with a hook like, "Depressed? Feeling a little grey? Then you'll love to knit with these new colorways! Yarns to match your mood! Order now!" Maybe you could depart from your Irish names for the new Yarns for the Depressed and they could be called "Eeyore Gray" and "Flatline Fuschia" and "Humdrum Blue" and "Melancholy Mustard". You could advertise not in knitting magazines, but in Psychology Today and Self-Help Digest. Just a thought. :)

OOOOH! I love Mrs. Blah! I don't see her as blah at all. I see her as cool, calm, collected. She's refined and graceful in an approachable sort of way. Not snobby at all. And she likes her tea with a little cream, thank you very much.

Squishing yarn always makes me feel better when I'm a little depressed. Buying yarn makes me feel better when I'm really depressed, so maybe this "melancholy mustard" thing might pan out.

I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE.

You should mail the rejects to me. Because I would love them. I could be a foster home for the rejects. Oh yes.

I have to agree Mrs Blah does look cool, calm and collected... and definitely refined and graceful... She would make THE perfect wee baby hat, and would say, "Why look at this perfect wee baby, she's beautiful!" instead of "LOOK AT ME! I'M A HAT!"
And sometimes that is exactly what you need.

Ooh. I kind of love Mrs. Blah. If one were to perhaps talk to the Yarnista about custom colorways and asked for something very similar if not virtually identical to Mrs. Blah, would such an answer be yes? *g*

I too really like Mrs. Blah. She would go with a good 2/3 of my wardrobe. And she is cool and soothing but just a teensy little bit precise. Sort of a prim Mary Poppins kind of yarn (as opposed to a silly Mary Poppins kind of yarn - no popping through chalk pavement pictures for this one).

Love the idea of yarns for the depressed. This is a lovely, melancholy colorway, she just needs a little love.
