Updates.

The floor is done being scraped. For now.
The ice is melting on the Lake.
The sun has been out for almost a week.
Our new building is lovely.
The knitting books have a new home.
The yarn winders are poised to come out of hibernation.
I have some yarn left for Carpe Yarnem.
I still lack the internet.
My hands are healing.
I'm happy to be here.
The plumbers are still not finished.
I'm itching to fire up those dye pots.
I think this is a lesson in patience.
The break area and snack bar are all set up.
My fancy coffee machine broke in the move.
How are all of you? I miss you.

You must be exhausted! We know you do all this hard work just for us...
It's so nice to check on the blog and see that you are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope that things continue to move forward and that you are playing with color and fiber again very soon.
Oh no! Your coffee machine broke??? Aaaahhhh!!!!
I am glad the sun is coming out, spring is around the corners and the yarn winders are ready to start working again soon...hopefully.
And you need internet in there!!
Glad to hear everything is going well. Congrats on it all again!
You're doing an awesome job,
stay positive and keep looking forward!
Your coffee machine broke??? That must be remedied immediately!!!! Priorities, woman!
We miss you too.
So very sorry about your hands, the plumbers, the internet and your poor coffee pot :(
But so glad to see a post from you! To hear that things are starting to fall into place and to see there is carpe yarnem waiting to find new homes ;)
Miss you!
We miss you too!
I am sorry about your coffee machine - but happy that the books are settled into their new home.
No coffee??? nooooooooooooooooooo!
Those floors look beautiful :) All the hard work you put in is really paying off.
Lessons in patience... Oh, I don't like those very much!
Good to hear you're healing up.
While you've been moving and scraping and hurting your hands, I went back and caught up on your archives. But I'm all caught up. Have been for about a week. So that whole missing you thing? I put it off for awhile but it's starting to show. I'm glad you're healing, that things are ready to wind up again (see how I did that, with the pun?) and I'm getting kinda anxious to see the new place. But I know these things take time.
I have to say that I know I haven't commented more than a couple times, since I'm fairly new here, but having gone through all the previous posts, I feel like I know you and probably should tell you a little about me.
I've only been knitting for a year and a couple months. I've never knit a sweater but will probably try that sometime soon. I have the yarn, just not the guts. Yet. I am addicted to socks. I'm currently knitting my first ever lace, my first ever shawl, and my first ever knit a long, and it's a mystery KAL, so it's a whole bunch of firsts all in one project. I sometimes take out my one Three Irish Girls skein of yarn (Georgia Peach McClellan, if you're curious) to pet it. I haven't found a pattern worthy of it yet. I'm thinking gloves, and if there's enough left over, maybe a cowl. It's too good to put on my feet and be sweated on. When I get my birthday money, I'm coming to your site to go nuts. I have a couple months to go before my birthday. And despite the months in between placing my order for the Georgia Peach and receiving it, your customer service was impeccable and I can tell you care about what you do. I am more than happy to be a repeat customer and support an independant dyer. I just wish my (very limited) local yarn shop carried Three Irish Girls yarn. In fact, my lys is actually a bead store with a section of yarn and needles. Because of this, I've daydreamed about owning my own yarn shop. If I were to ever do it, I would stock TIG. But for now, I must get back to my spreadsheet.
Nice talking to you!
So good to hear from you again - i miss you too!
The new place looks wonderful and i'm sure all this work and patience-building will be worth it.
How are the kids liking the new location?
I love the pic of the front of your building. And the one of the rocks all warm and without snow. Hope you feel all settled in soon.
I love seing yarn in the cubbies! It looks homey.... Beautiful colors on the walls. It will be exciting to see the colorways you create being back "home". In the meanwhile, I have lots of lovelies to tide me over :-)
I miss you too! Please, plumbers and electricians and other workers, hurry up soon so we can have Sharon back. Thanks.
Also, I am sorry about the coffee.
We miss you too!!!I can't wait for everything to be set up!!
coffee machine breakage!!!!!
nooooooooooooo!
:gasp:
noooooooooooo!
i trust this will be remedied soon.
LOVE your new digs, miss you too!
Lucky you! You have the SUN! Just 100 miles south of you and we are in the gloom!
Lucky you! There is a coffee shop nearby!
Lucky you! All those beautiful colors and being "home" -- we do miss you, but lucky lucky you!
It's looking better and better! I'm so happy for you and yes, we all miss you.
Yep, we sure do miss you. You sound happy though, I am so glad. Sorry about the coffee pot. I am going to be worried that you will be sadly staring into an empty cup all day, everyday, so be sure to let us know when you get it replaced. I have a feeling that I won't be the only one wondering.
Love you
Whilst it sounds like an awful lot of hard work, it also sounds like this move is presenting so many opportunities (new colours, new space, new coffee machine). And if you can't get dying and selling right now fear not - all over the world there are determined knitters turning 3IG yarn into wonderful things (mine may not be wonderful yet, but I'm in London (the original one), 4 inches into a Lace Ribbon Scarf - Veronik Avery on knitty.com, in Georgia Peach). There are also many (like me) just stroking and squidging the perfectly formed skeins still kept in their packaging smelling of jasmine soap, just enjoying their colours.
Hola, threeirishgirls.com - da mejor. Guardar va!
