make your opinion count

It already does, of course. But here's a direct way to influence our next collection of colorways (which, yes, we're already working on!).

Earlier today, I put up three posts (scroll down to see them), all of one of a kind colorways I created for a trunk show we did at Darn Knit Anyway in Stillwater, MN.

From those photographs, I chose a snippet of four different colorways I liked, and ran them through a color palette generator.

The results might surprise you -- what your eye sees may not be what the software sees. But it's a fun way to get color inspiration.

Here's inspiration #1:

And here's the palette:

Here's inspiration #2:

Here's inspiration #3:

And inspiration #4:

The palette:

Today's question is:

Two things:

1. Inspiration for palette #1 is missing =), or I can't see it...
2. I can only pick one???

Ummmmm..... Where is button #5, "All of them"???

February 3, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa

Are we voting for the yarn itself or for the palette?

#2 & #4 get my vote...or is that votes? :)

The palette! The yarns are one of a kind, so I can't recreate them exactly. But I can be inspired by the colors! Mackenzie, I can see the inspiration pics OK... can you try hitting the banner at the top to refresh?

Agree with Mackenzie and Melissa, can't pick just one, need button #5, "All of them"!!

I can't see the first picture either. . .which might be good. . . I already love them all!!!

Would love to see some semis, too! ;-)

If you look at the properties of #1 (which I don't see either), it's not normal and "neat". http://www.yarnista.com/blog/2011/storage/inspiration1.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1296782754578 Looks like it's got an extra: /blog/2011/ inserted.

I cannot see inspiration #5; http://www.yarnista.com/storage/palette3.tiff?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1296783006145 which looks like it has a tiff-ending instead of jpg.

I agree with the others; I love all the yarns and really wish I could attend one of your workshops. But then I fear I'd set myself up for a lifetime of debt...

#3 because it is so bright and cheerful on another grey winter's day! And because it is a color not yet in my stash!

Wow, that was a tough choice. I see by the poll that the color choices seem to be running very close. Will there be a winner? Will on palette come out on top? Tune in tomorrow, same time, same place.

I love all of them for many reasons. I wish that we could get all of them. But right now, I am on the hunt for semi-solids for socks because they show off the stitch patterns better for the socks that I am making.

I voted for 1 because that is really my colors. 2 reminds me so much of spring. The pretty colors of spring flowers. 3 reminds me of Valentine's Day and love. 4 is again my colors but too variegated for what I am looking for right now.

I'm torn between #1 and #2. It would depend upon my mood. And since that is the case, and I can be very changeable in mood, I'd say all of the above? But since we are to choose one, I'll go with #1 since it is closest to my favorite colors. Can't wait to see what you do with the results.

It's really weird because it shows up sometimes, and disappears sometimes, even if I haven't navigated away from the page. Its only the "inspiration" pic for #1 that is affected. *shrugs* It loverly nonetheless.

And I voted and now I feel that the other colors are going to be sad cause I didn't vote for them, and that they will hate me and not want to come live with me if they get made later.... *sigh*

February 4, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMackenzie

Wow, the votes are pretty evenly split!

(Ellen, there is no inspiration 5 -- I think some people were just wishing there was a 5th option that included "all of the above." :)

Can you please stop creating new irresistible colorways until I catch up on all the old irresistible colorways? Please and thank you.

With that said, I chose #3.

February 4, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAllison

First I chose 4 then back to 1 I feel unfaithful.

I still can't see #1. However, there is one color conspicuously missing and that, of course, is GREEN. Oh and brown.

February 4, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterPaige

I like #3 most out of those. Followed by all the above.

February 4, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterShaine

Love #3, those are my colors! They are just happy and cheerful! #2 is a close second in my book. But how can we go wrong with any of them? They are all beautiful!
