TIME’S UP! And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The Great Internet Outage of 2008 is officially over. Thanks to those of you who sent concerned letters via wagon train, owls bearing news of the outside world, and nourishing soups to bolster our strength.

We have much to share -- Albert is all grown up, and has taken himself a lovely bride. Laura is headed west to homestead on the prairie, and Mrs. Oleson and I have been busily preparing for the coming winter by darning socks and canning the last of the summer berries. Hopefully, Pa will enjoy his jam as the snow flies in January.

It's time for a contest, don't you think?

I do think.

As a prize, how about a skein of our awesome new sock yarn, Beckon? I can't wait to share its awesomeness with you. Never a prettier sock yarn has been found. Never a stretchier, funner-to-knit-with yarn has been seen. Never has a grammar teacher been so horrified.

You pick your poison: a semi solid? Describe the color, and we can make it for you. Or maybe one of our yummy handpainted colorways? To sweeten the deal, we'll also add a free copy of one of our sock patterns.

To enter, respond to this post and answer the following question: What's on your needles right now? Or perhaps, what do you wish were on your needles right now? This will allow those of you who tidily finish one project before beginning another to enter.

Or allow those of you who are currently stuck in the horrid, "When the BLEEP is this project going to be finished?!?!" stage to fantasize about greener pastures. (Which I've heard are out west on the prairie.)

You have until Thursday evening, October 9th, to respond, and then we'll randomly select a winner. I will share one of my projects tomorrow!

Here's my little confession...
currently on my needles I have:
- a pair of Monkey socks using Arctic circle Beckon (I heart Beckon)
- my 3IG sweater KAL project, a Pinwheel sweater on Lindon in your Alice colourway
-a Helena cardi
- and finally my gorgeous skein of Azalea Orchid Kells sport is dangerously close to my needles wanting to become a pair of Esther socks.

Funny you should ask :)
I am forcing myself to finish up my first pair of socks! It is the "Spring Thaw" pattern by Cat Bordhi using Araucania Ranco solid in Wisteria colorway. I don't know the first thing about knitting socks and happened to choose an advanced pattern totally by accident! Now that I am almost done with my first sock, I think I am starting to enjoy this...I would love to win some yummy sock yarn!

What's on my needles? Hmmm...several things, as usual. Game Day tube socks in USC Trojans colors, a beautiful top-down cardigan in a lovely teal shade, and I'm thinking on casting on another one skein wonder in the Isla colorway of Lindon.

On my needles now are the prototype for my month of July yarn in the Knitting Purls Indie Sock club. I'm knitting it up in a short sock so that I can tweek the colors when I set out to dye up the club yarn. Also I am in the Chrystal Palace KaL doing "Salto" in Panda Wool-Night Shade and worried that I do not have enough yarn.... Also I'm still trying to finish "Bellatrix" iin Hocus Pocus by Tempted Yarns.....only on sock#1 and would like to be done by Halloween.....

So currently on the needles -
- my first clapotis (Wollmeise Rosenrot)
- a pair of shortie socks (Selah Crush)
I have yet to cast on any of my sock club socks.....I am not sure if any of the yarn will become socks...I am becoming obsessed with fingerless gloves and mittens and I think many memnbers of my family are getting them for holiday gifts!!

I have a pair of mittens on one set of needles and a purple anthropoligie inspired shrug on another set. I'm about to have a tam on another set. I may have too many needles. LOL

i just finished knitting all the pieces and parts to the Hey Teach! cardigan, and managed to incorrectly sew the sleeves on twice, so it's now sitting in the naughty pile. Otherwise, I'm working on a pair of Belle Epoque socks in jade green Opal, and hopefully move on to something for SKA October :P

There is the Alhambra scarf for a friends birthday. A lace shawl. Then there is the Totally Autumn throw blanket. We can't forget the Wavy Feathers wimple. I guess that's the good thing about there being snow on the ground already. I can hunker down and get a few of these finished. LOL!

I literally just finished an Imogen Jacket and I'm currently racing along on the Shetland Triangle, after many false starts, using a yarn from Blue Moon Fiber arts in their Raven series. I also have man-socks in Silk Garden sock going, and some very sleepy socks, rather neglected, in Wollmeise. And a toddler hat in leftover Jitterbug. And I'm just itching to cast on for yet another sock. I'm not monogamous!

Well, what just came off my needles is a feather & fan scarf that I was going to wear to my 20th high school reunion in November. But since the reunion just got rescheduled 'til March, I'm wearing the scarf to work today.

I have 'Versatility' from the new Knitty on my needles, as well as a laceweight stole which is on hiatus due the to level of concentration needed.

I rec'd my 3IG yarn in the mail yesterday :) so will soon be casting on for some socks for my mom or legwarmers for my daughter. That is, unless I decide to start a hat for myself while I decide on patterns for the two gifts!

I have two pairs of Longies on my needles right now and Trellis which I have been working on since august. I really wish I was doing the kids hudson hats right now. Hayden (My3 yo) is begging me for one. But before that I promised my sil mittens before she goes back to russia in January.

I am working on a Barn Raising Blanket. This is my attempt to kick my stash's behind. I am using all blues and purples. I am up to my 40th square....and I am attempting to get to at least 100. If I am ambitious enough and have enough yarn I will make it queen sized! I have been surprisingly faithful since it is good mindless knitting, which I have needed lately!!!
Ooh, that photo has me craving red! But my fave color of yours is Sinead!

I never thought I'd be one to have multiple projects going at a time, but here I am! I have a pair of convertible mittens, a cotton shrug meant to be worn on my beach vacation in August (oops), and a men's polo sweater mean to be a test knit for SWTC. I very much want to CO for the Breton Girl sweater from Knitscene, but I keep holding back to wait and knit a smaller size as I continue to work out and try to lose a bit more weight.

A big bulky bag I am knitting to felt for a friend, Spring Forward Socks, and a Wonderful Wallaby for my dd.

On the needles now, a sock from every sock club I'm in, of course! Lucky tight knitters in my local groups have all donated their tiny (00 and smaller) needles to me, the resident loose knitter. So now it's possible to start (and not finish) lots and lots of socks!

On my needles...an afghan that should have been done in February, a wrap that is my "waiting" project (when you're waiting for something or someone and want to keep busy), a shawl that has to be done before November, a knee sock that I really want to finish, a pair of gloves for my boyfriend (started god knows when), and a box. Really, just too many. But now I've moved and knitting will have to wait until I unpack the box with all my yarn in it!

I am on my second holiday gift! It is the sweater from VK: Vihervaara -huppari / GreenGable -hoodie (Thank you Lord for "Copy/Paste"!) I am planning to be dome with it for the end of November. The actual sweater may take two or three weeks, but the finishing is what takes the longest :P

On my needles: Pi Shawl, Mystery Stole 4, Mormor Shawl, and probably a gazillion others that I've (conveniently) forgotten.

Hmmm, actively on the needles... dishcloths for a friend's housewarming and the second sock of a pair of simple 3x1 rib boot socks (in orange for Halloween). Need to have OTN: the second sock to complete a pair of Broadripples. Want to have OTN: the Baltic Sea sock yarn from our last club shipment, it is just so yummy.... just need to decide on the pattern. :)

on my needles right now: my 3IG KAL sweater (Lady Slipper & Chocolate Orchid), a pair of to-be-felted slippers, a garter stitch triangle shawl in baby loop mohair my 8 year old son dyed for me (bright yellow, purple, turquoise & green) & Zombie socks... i have to frog & restart the 2nd sock because aforementioned child's BT puppy ate my needles...
what i wish was on my needles: an earflap hat in Cole for Cole, a spider motif scarf in Brennan for Brennan, & a cute sweater for Rory in Rory.
