TIME’S UP! And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 5:23AM
The Great Internet Outage of 2008 is officially over. Thanks to those of you who sent concerned letters via wagon train, owls bearing news of the outside world, and nourishing soups to bolster our strength.
We have much to share -- Albert is all grown up, and has taken himself a lovely bride. Laura is headed west to homestead on the prairie, and Mrs. Oleson and I have been busily preparing for the coming winter by darning socks and canning the last of the summer berries. Hopefully, Pa will enjoy his jam as the snow flies in January.

It's time for a contest, don't you think?
I do think.
As a prize, how about a skein of our awesome new sock yarn, Beckon? I can't wait to share its awesomeness with you. Never a prettier sock yarn has been found. Never a stretchier, funner-to-knit-with yarn has been seen. Never has a grammar teacher been so horrified.
You pick your poison: a semi solid? Describe the color, and we can make it for you. Or maybe one of our yummy handpainted colorways? To sweeten the deal, we'll also add a free copy of one of our sock patterns.
To enter, respond to this post and answer the following question: What's on your needles right now? Or perhaps, what do you wish were on your needles right now? This will allow those of you who tidily finish one project before beginning another to enter.
Or allow those of you who are currently stuck in the horrid, "When the BLEEP is this project going to be finished?!?!" stage to fantasize about greener pastures. (Which I've heard are out west on the prairie.)
You have until Thursday evening, October 9th, to respond, and then we'll randomly select a winner. I will share one of my projects tomorrow!

I'm knitting Spring Forward socks (which are almost finished) and a dishcloth.
It's almost embarrassing - I have about 6 pairs of socks, 1 hat, 2 blankets, & a hibernating chicken in the egg. . . .I am sure there is something else I have tucked away somewhere too.
On my needles ever so many projects...some active, some languishing, some hibernating and some turning into frogs: there are socks: two pairs of bacchus and an american in china; there are two hoodies: central park about 1/3 done (most recent sweater project) and one top down that is done but for the blocking and the i-cord for the hood. There are shawls: 3: one hibernating, one a victorian lace today july KAL that needs to frog back to a life line and a circular cape that i really MUST finish the border on but it is ever so loooooooong. i've just started a scarf tonight as an experiment: entrelac snake pattern scarf and, oh, yes, another sock in progress: knotty or knice...love this pattern! that's all i will allow myself to remember.
Right now, I'm knitting a Squatty Sidekick -- my second bag from this pattern. Next up, I'll be sewing together squares to make an afghan for a charity auction.
This ADD knitter has 6 different socks on the needles right now, as well as the Adamas shawl, and the Tangled Yoke Cardigan. I hope to get at least three pairs of socks done before Christmas.
I am on clue 4 of Mystery Shawl 4. Also, a shawl on which I am trying to do a lace version of the New Mexico State flag sun emblem, a sweater for my daughter. And a swatch for Evelyn Clark's Children of the World Shawl! I am determined to make all of my Christmas gifts this year.
If so lucky as to win, I would choose your beautiful Skye colorway!
on my needles right now... my 1st pair of socks.. um sock. and a hat for my 3 year old godson. and a scarf for my best friend. and a handful of other projects. but yet, i have loads of yarn that i want to knit up, but i'm kind of forcing myself to finish what i have going on... at least until i get the 1st package from the 3IG sock club!
Right at this second I'm knitting a pair of Mario gloves for Dom to go with the Mario hat I made for his bday.
I'm knitting a pair of socks for my son who is to be deployed to Iraq. So here I was, almost done with the second sock, when I realized that I would not have enough yarn to finish. ####!!!!0000
Not the words that you would expect from a grandma. However, one of the great gals on Ravelry helped me out by sending me the yarn I needed (same dye lot to boot!)
Squeeee! A contest!
What's on my needles? Well, it is soon to be a cowl and hat set in MMMMMmmmmmalabrigo that my friend designed. I'm her test knitter :) But I wish it could be Silken Scabbard with my lovely September Stash Menagerie Yarn Club yarn!
Thanks for the fun :)
Wow, I have way too many projects on the needles right now (and I keep wanting to cast on more)!
I have a scarf for my son, socks for my mom, a friend, and my son, two everlasting bagstoppers, a pinwheel baby blanket, a Koolhaas, and a sweater for my son (and that's what I can remember off the top of my head!) I really need to finish some things soon!
I've got the red rings pullover on the needles right now-my very first sweater! After that I am casting on Versatility from knitty with my YOTM club, Rowling. Very excited about both!
I am working on a February Lady sweater for myself and trying to write a sock pattern! :) I am so having a good time right now with my knitting!
I will admit I'm a Polygamous knitter. I usually have more than one project OTN at a time. But you caught me in one of my more Monogamous moments. I have 2 projects OTN but hibernating and I'm just working on some Longies right now.
In my wildest dreams, what would I have OTN? Hmmm me thinks something for thyself!
I'd love to see pictures of your progress on your sweater :)
One afghan square the second of 9. One Baby Surprise Jacket on the other circular. Turtles to decorate 7 hats for the boys in my family I have decided that I really hate turtles one of those projects that I just can't get right.
Thank you for the advice. I’ve found your first point to be most effective.
it does werd
Any motorist will know that, no matter how much money you pay for a car, how new or old it is, there will always be something that can go wrong. It doesn’t matter how rare the fault is, or how well the car runs most of the time, eventually something can go wrong – and when it does, you often find yourself having to hand over plenty of cash to get it repaired.
If you're in not good state and have no cash to go out from that point, you would have to receive the . Because that should aid you definitely. I take collateral loan every time I need and feel good just because of that.
It is advantageous, then, to have a repair service manual for your car, whether it is a Bugatti Veyron or a Hillman Imp. Knowing what has gone wrong with the car, and whether you can run the repairs yourself, is helpful for so many reasons. A good service repair manual will make it easier to drive with confidence, knowing that you have all the information you need to make the repair job less stressful, and possibly less expensive.
I strictly recommend not to hold off until you get enough cash to buy goods! You can just take the or consolidation loans and feel comfortable
I don't know about that. I'm not sure I agree with your ideas. I'll just agree to disagree. Thanks for the post.
